A Christmas Blessing for the community- Chicken, Beans, and Rice…
This past holiday break POP partnered with a La Unica & Harris Teeter grocery stores to purchase over 150 whole chickens, beans, and rice to hand out to our friends. As Christmas is all about celebrating the greatest gift of all- Jesus, we wanted to take the opportunity and give as a way to remember and reflect on the good news of Jesus!
Christmas at the Place
Now a three year tradition, we gathered kids and families from the community the past Christmas break for a time of local food, crafts, games, and most importantly- sharing the Gospel message through the story of Christmas.
Christmas Promise Shop 2025
This year, Places of Peace is partnering with Urban Promise - East Location to put on a Christmas Promise shop for the people we serve on December 12th and 13th at Cokesbury UMC and Places of Peace site. Families will get the chance to come and shop for Christmas for items that have been reduced from their original price.
We would love to have you be a part of this with us! Families can donate toys for kids ages 0-18.
